Horror Of Horrors - Blood, Fangs and Foulness: The Complete Cursed Chronicles
Horror of Horrors might be the most underrated death metal bands out of the early 90’s. One of the first extreme bands out of Maryland, here are 2 tracks from the upcoming re-released and re-mastered album (combining the two earlier released albums “Fangs Breaking the Skin” and “Sounds of Eerie”). This is a promotional package since their record label hasn’t even heard it yet. Enjoy, Highly Recommended for fans of early death metal!

Misery's Omen - Hope Dies
I've always thought of this band as a better Stargazer. Progressive Black/Doom/Death, if you have an open mind give this band a try.. members of Mournful Congregation, Stargazer and... Portal.

Impetuous Ritual - Relentless Execution Of Ceremonial Excrescence
Here it is folks another release from the mighty Profound Lore, and who couldn't write a better review then the label themselves (this also might be laziness on my behalf.)
"Featuring two members from fellow like-minded death metal fiends PORTAL, Impetuous Ritual have delivered a work of true death metal blasphemy that comes across as a vile mix of the crawling doomy dirge-like ambience of INCANTATION’s “Onward To Golgotha”, the ferocious sonic violence of BESTIAL WARLUST’s “Blood And Valour” and with the surreal-like blurred riffing of Portal respectively. Nonetheless “Relentless Execution” shall deliver its unholy carnage in manifesting a true vision of what brutal death metal should portray."

Black Wreath - A Pyre of Lost Dreams
What sounds like a epic movie soundtrack is actually just an insanely good funeral doom band called Black Wreath. Combining actual violins and cellos with actual funeral music and the occasional creepy grunts. Highly recommended!!

Norrsken - Discography
The band that pre-dates Witchcraft, I tried to find the "Armageddon Single" only but this will have to do. Great stuff, a little bit different from Witchcraft vocally but but still the same 70's blues rock worship.

Bunkur - Nullify
It's a sad day when I'm not informed that Bunkur releases a new album which actually came out in September. Usual stuff 1 song, 1 hour, really heavy doom. I posted an earlier album from them here so when you get this get Bludgeon as well.

Arcturus - Aspera Hiems Symfonia
Garm of Ulver fame provides the vocals to this almost flawless black metal masterpiece, and still one of my all time favorite metal singers. Even though I'm not huge on symphonic black metal I highly recommend this record.

Portal - Swarth
It's finally here! The band I named this blog after, the band I spend way too much money and time on, the band that's playing deathfest and I'm loosing sleep over, here it is the brand new record!!! I pre-ordered Portal's new record from Profound Lore about a week ago and I have not been disappointed and while it's not like Seepia or Outre it's still a great record none the less. Old Funeral - The Older Ones
Yes the much talked about Old Funeral and this record will NOT let you down. In the bands line up it saw such greats as Abbath (Immortal) and of course Varg (Burzum). Although this is a compilation it's a great one ranging from raw death metal to low-fi black metal.

Wishbone Ash - First Light
If you've never heard Wishbone Ash before I will be both glad and unhappy to tell you this is the place to start and finish. Outside of the self-titled record which features every song on this record except for the unreleased track "Roads of Day to Day" which is probably my favorite next to "Errors Of My Way".. and.. "Queen Of Torture"...and... "Lady Whiskey." Enjoy this is great 70s blues rock.

How else to celebrate the reuniting of Kansas City death/black monoliths Order From Chaos? Easy, post my favorite record and hope that people listen and come to the shows. Plus, how can you go wrong with a band that has H.R. Giger work on the sleeve... it works for Celtic Frost.

Serpent Throne - Ride Satan Ride
Couldn't have put it better myself: "Say there was a heavy rock festival in like '72 where Black Sabbath, Wishbone Ash, the Scorpions, Budgie, and like Cactus are supposed to play, but then, due to a series of plane crashes and natural disasters, only 1 surviving member from each band can make it. In order to calm down the crowd of heavy rockers, Iommi grabs a couple dudes from the other bands and puts together an emergency band. And then Uli Roth says, "We don't need a singer because he'll just get in the way of the riffs." I think that's what Serpent Throne is aiming for. Whether we get there or not is another story, but we'll drink some beer and rip some guitar harmonies along the way."

Cannabus Corpse - Tube of the Resinated
Ramming Speed - Brainwreck
Empurios - Demo
Here's where I lay our old band to rest, I figured while I am running a blog I might as well post my old bands demo. To this day the record remains unmastered, somewhere out there we have a live performance recorded that sounds terrible.
