Anhedonist - Demo

I've been excited about friends' bands before and then there is Anhedonist, one of the most brutal, evil sounding bands out of Washington. Combining slow black metal-ish sound with doom/death metal style, don't take my word just get it ...don't sleep on this band I will post more details about further releases.

Disembowelment - Mourning September Demo

Slow, evil, depressing death/doom metal, absolutely mandatory!

Krohm - The Haunting Presence

Further indication that U.S.B.M. can actually be good... and yes it is another one man band. Not the usual run of the mill lo-fi Burzum worship (while that does have it's place after all) just a slew of influences. Ambient black metal with some serious doom influences... I find myself coming back to this band when I've lost faith in American Black Metal. Enjoy!

Misery's Omen - Hope Dies

I've always thought of this band as a better Stargazer. Progressive Black/Doom/Death, if you have an open mind give this band a try.. members of Mournful Congregation, Stargazer and... Portal.

Sorrow - Forgotten Sunrise

Old School Death/Doom band from New York. If you like Winter you’ll love this... and nevermind the terrible cover art.

Wake Up On Fire - S/T

For Kevin. Rest in Peace my friend!

Bunkur - Nullify

It's a sad day when I'm not informed that Bunkur releases a new album which actually came out in September. Usual stuff 1 song, 1 hour, really heavy doom. I posted an earlier album from them here so when you get this get Bludgeon as well.

My Dying Bride - Towards The Sinister (Demo)

Before My Dying Bride turned into total crap they released a few epic doom records, the demo material in particular.

Faustcoven - Rising From Below The Earth

Norwegian Black/Doom!

Oak - Self Titled

Crushing Death/Doom from Baltimore. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Thanks to Danny for doing most of the leg work, I just tried to make it idiot proof. Enjoy.

Download

Winter - Into Darkness + Eternal Frost

Took a long hiatus only to state that, I will be updating the blog more often now. In the meantime enjoy this Death/Doom gem from the early 90's.

Fleshpress - Fleshpress

From the evil mastermind behind Deathspell Omega (Mikko Aspa) comes... Fleshpress! And it's not what you're expecting either.. straight eerie sludge/stoner!

Download

Hooded Mence - Fulfill the Curse

Horror influenced Death/Doom from Finland, not to be overlooked!

Bunkur - Bludgeon

I'm not too sure which version this is but the LP is one very long song and a Burzum cover. Again sludge/doom... I'm starting to see a reoccurring theme with my posts.

Otesanek - S/T

“Slower than the second coming of Jesus Christ.” One of the greatest bands from Philly, the most evil sludge/doom you will ever hear on record. The band has recently called it quits but I will eventually upload the last album, which is also nothing short of magnificent. If your a fan of early Khanate I highly recommend this record!!!

Grief / 13 Split

13 is an all female (almost) sludge band from New York, and Grief needs no introduction. Fantastic split you can probably still pick up from Kreation.

Download

Church Of Misery - Second Coming

Japanese Doom/Stoner/Sludge however you choose to classify the music. Members of Coffins and G.A.T.E.S.

Cruevo / Brainoil Split
